WHAT IS EFT TAPPING?

EFT refers to Emotional Freedom Techniques and it is a body & mind method of releasing emotions, stress, limiting beliefs, and trauma that have been trapped in the body.  It is also known as tapping and I like to call it "emotional support at your fingertips".

It combines modern psychological knowledge and neurology with eastern wisdom about the energy of the body and knowledge of meridians and acupuncture points. Sometimes people call it energy psychology or psychological acupuncture.

Tapping harmonizes the mind and body and restores the body to balance. It lowers the level of cortisol (stress hormone), which reduces stress and its symptoms, and  this over time translates into healthier cells, more energy and higher immunity.

The use of EFT allows us to feel better about ourselves, to be calmer and more satisfied with life, to discover our potential, and bring about the changes we want.

This method developed by Gary Craig has been known since the 90s of the twentieth century and is widespread mainly in the USA, but also more and more in European countries. It is used not only by EFT practitioners or coaches, but also by psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychiatrists to treat various types of disorders.

 HOW AND WHY DOES EFT TAPPING WORK?


When tapping we stimulate energy points while focusing on the stressful event, emotion, or painful memory we want to resolve. We might start working through the discomfort or emotions arising when thinking about stressful memory without even talking about the event in detail. 

  This then reduces/turns off the fight or flight or freeze signal from the   brain caused by stress and restores the flow of energy.

It is holistic hence it helps you to get to the root cause of your problem that is/are contributing to how you are feeling today and resolve it.


In fact, without finding the root cause the effects of using EFT are temporary bringing mostly a reduction of cortisol and stress in general.


It enhances self-awareness and brings issues from the subconscious mind to the conscious level so you can understand yourself better, and give yourself more empathy, love, and acceptance. You may look at the painful memory from a different angle you haven’t seen before, and that memory stops being painful.
